Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenski in his video speech before the Albanian Parliament asked Albania to limit trade with Russia and thanked the country for its support to Ukraine.
In a speech delivered via a live video link, on Tuesday (03.05) in front of the Albanian Parliament, the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenski, demanded that Albania restrict trade with Russia and close ports for Russian ships. “No one can know if among the Russian tourists there are not any of the assassins of Bucha or the executioners of Mariupoli”, he addressed the deputies of Albania, when he asked for the restriction of the arrival in Russia of Russian tourists.
The EU sanctions package should contain an oil embargo
The Ukrainian President, Zelenski, stopped in his online speech before the deputies of Albania in the sixth package of sanctions that is being discussed in the European Union (EU). “We must insist that this package include an oil embargo. Russian banks must be permanently eliminated from the global financial system. As difficult as it may be, the connection with Russia must be deliberately limited because if not today, tomorrow Russia will use trade links to “hit your market when it wants, when it wants concessions or political connections from you. You have to take this opportunity away from Russia,” said President Zelenski in front of the Albanian deputies.
He called the ban on United Nations (UN) funds for Russia a matter of principle. “If Russia violates the UN Charter, threatens the world food security, destroys world peace, it has no right to receive a single cent from the United Nations,” the Ukrainian president said in a speech.
Thanks for the hospitality
Zelensky presented to the deputies the crimes and atrocities of the Russian aggressors, the killing of children, the destruction of cities, religious sites, which he described as “an attempt to revive tyranny to the worst level ever seen in the twentieth century.” He thanked Albania for its support to Ukraine and especially for the hospitality to Ukrainian citizens who have taken refuge in Albania. “I am sure that now, everyone in the world is showing their true character. “Someone is big, but very small, when you have to be brave, and someone is small on the map, but he has a big heart and heart,” said President Zelenski in his online speech.
The War of the Ukrainians – Precious Service to the Democratic World
In his speech, the Prime Minister of Albania, Edi Rama, praised the struggle and resistance of the Ukrainian people against the Russian aggressors as “an extreme sacrifice of a freedom-loving people and an invaluable service to the democratic world, until yesterday drowsy.” Albania’s potential is modest. “Albania can be valuable to Ukraine with its voice either at the NATO table or at the UN Security Council table, where Albania has had the honor of being a co-initiator “of some significant attitudes against Russian aggression,” said Prime Minister Rama.
He mentioned Albania’s participation and contribution in the Donors’ Conference for Ukraine, which will take place on Thursday (05.05) in Warsaw, convened by Poland./DW
