NATO member Turkey, which has good relations with Russia and Ukraine, will again host a round of Russia-Ukraine talks

The Russian and Ukrainian delegations will meet again in Turkey for direct talks, said Ukrainian negotiator David Arakhamia.

“During another round of video negotiations, it was decided that the next round of direct meeting of the two delegations will take place in Turkey on March 28-30,” Arakhamia wrote on Facebook.

His Russian counterpart wrote in the Telegram that the talks will take place on Tuesday and Wednesday.

Earlier (10.03) high-level talks between the Foreign Ministers of Ukraine and Russia took place in Turkey, which ended without any progress.

The announcement of the meeting comes after two weeks of online talks and several rounds of direct talks, which were described by the Ukrainian side as “very difficult”.

The world cannot “burn the bridges” with Moscow

Earlier, Turkey’s presidential spokesman said the international community should continue to talk to Russia to end the war in Ukraine.

“If everyone burns the bridges of communication with Russia, then who will talk to them,” Ibrahim Kalin told the Doha International Forum.

Kalin also called for more support for Ukraine. “The Ukrainians must be supported by all possible means, so that they can be defended … but the Russian case must also be heard in one way or another,” so that its grievances can be understood, if not justified, he added.

Turkey, a NATO member, has good relations with Russia and Ukraine and has offered to serve as a mediator in the conflict. Ankara has criticized Moscow’s occupation, but it has refused to join Western countries in imposing sanctions on Russia.
